Yes and no. In many cases we act as the construction manager, hire subcontractors, and facilitate the entire project. However, as a construction integration company, we prefer to partner with other GCs to ensure we have local knowledge on the project, make their jobs easier, and involve as big an ecosystem as we can to design and build in a better way. The revolution in construction will not come from one company figuring out a better way to build. It will come when everyone in the industry finds new ways to work together in service of the client.

No. While we believe at a fundamental level that creating better buildings means using new materials and matching them with new processes, every project will have some portion of new and traditional materials. As part of our launch process, we determine how much of a given space could benefit from prefab and work from there.

If you compare the pure cost of prefab components with their traditional counterparts, then yes, prefab is more expensive. However, when you look at the aggregate budget and understand prefab’s ability to lower other trades and reduce cost by shortening construction timelines, it is comparable to other building types. To realize those benefits, it takes a holistic approach, like the Omega Construction Process.

We have a team of architects on staff and an ecosystem of other architects and engineers who know and believe in the Omega Construction Process. Every project has more subject matter experts than just architects and engineers. One of the benefits of the Omega Construction Process is its ability to enable a multitude of SMEs to work together with a shared objective and shared language.

The earlier in a project you introduce the Omega Construction Process the more benefit you gain. It is most effective when an Omega Launch is done pre-design at the infancy of a project. However, you still acquire many benefits as the project progresses, as Omega is meant to work within an ecosystem made up of all types of partners.

SBIRs also allow for streamlined production contracts of the technology, which speeds up the traditional construction contracting process. According to a recent report from the Government Accountability Office, nearly 30% of the Defense Department’s roughly 550,000 structures have exceeded their lifespans. Our SBIR Phase III (awarded 09/28/20 – Luke AFB 56th CONS CC) enables us to utilize government funds to complete much-needed space renovations and construction for our soldiers across the country and globe.
