Modernizing Education Through Impactful Spaces
Students today are learning differently. This is due to a host of factors, such as advancing technology, new learning models, and the hybridization of the classroom, to name a few. In the midst of these shifts, schools – especially charters – have taken on the responsibility of responding to these changes in many ways, like providing modern learning environments and contemporary curriculums.
The staff at Tierra Adentro of New Mexico, a performing arts school in the historic Sawmill district, wanted to build what would be one of the first privately developed, ground-up school facilities in the Albuquerque metro. Because TANM’s curriculum is focused on art and performance, they wanted a space that truly matched the culture and vivid palette of New Mexico's art scene.
Inverse’s systemized offsite construction methodology enabled TANM to speed up construction. More importantly, it provided an alternative funding mechanism that enabled the school to finance the building interior separately, giving them the means to fully afford an otherwise costly undertaking.
