New Mexico United training facility

A Flexible Training Facility Built In Record Time.

Soon after its arrival, the New Mexico United soccer team became an icon in the community across the state. Fans regularly packed the stands, sold out games, and adopted the team’s brand as an element of their own identity. As the team grew in popularity and magnitude, the need for a facility that would enable the players and staff to practice, train, exercise, meet and office from became essential.

New Mexico United First Financial Training facility

Location:

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Facility Size:

2,400 SQ FT

After an impressive 38 days from groundbreaking to occupancy, phase I of the NM United Training Center was complete.

The facility consisting of a training room, equipment room, locker room, coach offices, and a film room quickly became a rallying point of camaraderie and a place for the team to call their own. Systemized construction materials including modular interiors (DIRTT) and a prefabricated building envelope (ZS2) were utilized for their speed and flexibility, and were also cost-comparable to traditional onsite-built construction methods.

The project was executed in phases that fit NM United’s 2022 season timeline and access to utilities from the local county departments, made possible by the modular prefabricated construction methods. As further funding continues to become available, the space will continue to grow and flex to fit their needs.

One of the greatest threats to a building's timeline and budget is the many disconnects between design and construction. Through Immersive Design, we aim to reconnect design expectations and the eventual reality of a finished space.
